Beware

Did you know that U.S. border agents can seize your laptop, camera, cell phone and any other electronic device and search through the contents? They can even copy everything. You have to provide any passwords needed. And it is all legal. Click here for the story. Click here for a gay Canadian couple who had their laptop seized at the U.S. border.

I aint gonna delete shit. But in all seriousness thanks for great useful information. I'm sure people will be rightfullly more cautious with what they bring back and forth to DR. I know I will.

A friend was stopped at the border driving from Windsor, Canada to Detroit. Living in the Detroit area he has gone over the border hundreds of times and this was the first time he ever had any problem. They went through his laptop in front of him. I did not know that they could just take your laptop and keep it as long as they like.

If we can just get rid of bush and get Obama then maybe it will get better.

Maybe

US Customs and Border Protection has the absolute right to search everyone and everything that enters the United States. This is and has always been the law. It´s also worthwile to note that these types of serches are extremely rare and only conducted during secondary inspections. If nothing illegal was found on the laptop, it shouldn´t have been
seized. Something tells me that the article in the link is not telling the whole story, there could be an issue of child pornography. Otherwise, regular porn (gay or straight) in and of itself should not have caused the laptop to be seized.
