Orlando

Orlando, the former owner of Parios Bar, is now a taxi driver. He speaks English, is honest and a all-around nice guy. If you need a taxi in Santo Domingo call Orlando, 809.434.2629 (parios77@hotmail.com). Make sure to tell him you saw him on the blog.

Let me get this str8...He used to OWN a BAR, and now he's a TAXI Driver!!???!!?? It is an honest living (and all that), and the fact that he's an honest, english speaking Dominican does convince to use his services.
The issue I have Mr. Monaga is this man's untold story. How/Why did he loose his business. Was it a Gay Bar? Did his bookkeeper embezzzle the coins? Was he an alcoholic? Was he banging the bar maids two at time (a line from the God Father sorry). Was he run out of business by competition? Where was his bar located? I mean whats the REAL DEAL? I mean from a Bar Owner to Taxi Driver is a stretch. Was it the recession? All in all the comments about this man are very positive ones.
I'm super curious to his story thats all. Ok Monaga now DISH........

Sissies will be sissies! it is not enough that this man had the fortitude to start a business, had the bad fortune of having it failed, regrouped, and is now honing an honest living, someone such as 10:55PM post wants Anthony to scrape the bottom of the gossip lake to dug up stuff on this man. I tell ya!!! how about 4 in 5 businesses fail, how bout the fickled nature of the beast in the nightclub scene, or a number of other scenarios which doesn't really make it a gossip girl read???? Take the high ground for once, at the very minimum, congratulate the man and move on. shish!!!

Parios Club was on a corner half a block down from Jay Dees. You could easily see one place from the other. He and his wife were both very nice and attended the club personally. Parios was larger than Jay Dees and the more comfortable of the two clubs but for some reason it never really caught on and finally closed.

To the Anonymous blogger with all of the very inappropriate questions it appears to this writer that the resession has hit you hard and has for some time. If you were a frequent vistor to the D. R. you would know the answer to all of your questions. You sound like someone that enjoys hearing and reporting the dirt of others. I'd really like to know what your REAL story is.

U are so right. I'll be in the DR next month and will give him a call. Who wants to know negative things about working people? Giving Gay tourist a badd rap. Keep it positive!!!

I pra-tell, some of these queens will never be happy, they love the dirt on someone and never happy for the person who re-invents themselve. However the interesting fact is they never sign what they write. So there beads can be read...get my drift? Orlando is a really quality person and I wish him much success in his new business venture.

I never thought Orlando understood much about running a bar and that is why it closed but he is a quality person who never mistreats anyone and is a pleasure to be around. I would use him for a driver anytime.
