The landmark July issue of Italian Vogue was dedicated to Black models. It featured legends and newcomers alike. One in particular was Dominican newcomer, Arlenis Sosa Peña. This Dominican beauty has taken the modeling world by storm. She was discovered by Dominican designer, Luis Menieur, while walking on the Malecon. She was a runner-up in the Elite Model competition here in the Dominican Republic in 2006. Since she started modeling internationally this past March, she has been in American & Italian Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, and walked the runways for Christian Dior and Oscar de la Renta, among others.
