Casa New Yorker

The other night I got an invitation from the owners of Casa New Yorker, Scotch and Byron, to come over and preview their new space. It was kind of bittersweet, because I had tried to turn the same space into a guesthouse and was not successful. Well, what they have done with the space is, in one word, beautiful.

Casa New Yorker is very warm and inviting, and has a wonderful feel-like-home vibe. The atmosphere is very casual and the touches, from cocktails to daily breakfast, is just what the doctor ordered.

Saturday night they will be having their grand-opening party, and judging from the comments thus far, they are off to a great start. Scotch and Byron are two of the nicest guys and a welcome addition to the gay ex-pat community here. Best of all, they stay way above the fray of any drama going on here. I want to wish them all the success in the world.

If you are looking for a place to stay on your next trip to Santo Domingo please consider Casa New Yorker. You can also stop by and check the place out in person. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed.

Look for the interview I conducted with the guys, along with pictures from the grand-opening party.

I agree with this posting. Scott and Byron are a wonderful couple and they have really done a complete make over of the Casa New Yorker. The rooms are airy and decorated with taste. I wish them the best of luck in this new adventure and hope to become a regular customer now that all the kinks are worked out of that building.

Had a great time this weekend!! Scotch and Byron are 2 of the greatest hosts you can meet. I hope they go far and would definitely stay there again.
