Monday, Monday

This past weekend was quite nice and the weather wasn´t too bad either.

Friday, I went to the Santo Domingo Book Fair and had a great time. I got there late and I think I missed Angel Lozada´s talk, though no one could tell me if or when he was going to speak. Anyway, there were hundreds of people there and it was really nice to see all the exhibits and people. I was really impressed.

Saturday, there was a party for Coqui, the hostess at Jay-Dee´s. It was packed with well-wishers and many of her fellow drag queens came to help her celebrate and perform. Jerry opened his restaurant next door to be used as the VIP lounge, and boy what a great addition. Jay-Dee´s can get very crowded on the weekends and this allows you to get a away for a break, without having to go outside. I like, Jerry! Coqui looked like a princess (albeit a sweating one!) and the place was decorated nicely and had some beautiful flowers throughout.

A former employee of mine who had not been heard of in a very long time has suddenly reappeared on the scene. Boy, I wish I could go into how he made his splash back into Dominican gay, expatriate society (hopefully I will be able to divulge info soon). I have found out that he is working at the new gay resort near Cabarete. And I´m already getting emails about it. Boy, this is interesting and I have a feeling it will get more interesting.

Oh I know who it is. I love the blind items.

First I thought it was you-know-who with the van, and then I re-read the post and figured it to be the one with hotel and dj experience.

So what is happening with you-know-who with the van and that guest house venture with he-who's-name-shall-never-be-spoken? Please give updates.

Also, how come one particular expat down there has to be re-introduced over and over and over like they've never met you before? Forgetting names is one thing; pretending like how-on-earth-could-you-possibly-know-me, (even though you've had drinks with this person before and after said drinks they're your new best friend. This part is all rhetorical so allow me.) Weird behavior, but It makes hi-larious recaps on the flight home!

Please write that book.

Has anyone spoken with the owners of the resort in Cabarete and given them the heads-up on this former employee of yours? I know if I were the owners I would appreciate knowing that I may lose potential customers by having that individual on my staff. Do you think that I should contact the owners and let them know my opinion of this individual? Or should I keep quiet and let them find out for themselves?

This was a person that worked for me who is Dominican and speaks English. I am really trying to keep the drama down, so I don't want to get into anymore bullshit.

To the poster who wants to contact the owner of the new resort, that would be your right. I'm not saying you should, or you shouldn't.

I know who it is also and if I were the owners of that new resort, I'd want to know also. Word has it that not only is this "Dominican who speaks english" into working at hotels, she also has lots of experience working as a travel agent and obtaining visas for the boys. Well, the true word is she has taken thousands of dollars from unsuspecting tourist and buggies assuring them that he could get them a visa, only to have them show up to get the visa and ticket to the states and neither would be there. Not only has she worked for AM, but for aonther hotel who welcomes gays. Need more hints?

WHO IS IT?! Some anonymous soul just say....it's killing me not to know! Oh, did this person work with David last year??

This person also worked as a manager of the Cayo Limon Resort in El Limon in the North east part of the DR. His initials are J.R. He is very tall...maybe 6' 4". Does that help everybody now? If anyone does stay at the new resort I suggest that you do not give your credit card information but rather send a check to them. Enough said?
