Dominican/Latino LGBT Picnic & Health Fair

G.A.L.D.E. (Gay and Lesbian Dominican Empowerment) will be holding their annual picnic next month. If you or anyone you know would like to be involved, or would like to make a donation, please read the information below:

The 18th annual Dominican/Latino LGBT Picnic and Health Fair is an uplifting, informative and pleasurable event for its participants. It is an occasion to provide very important information and services to people in our community as well as an opportunity to empower and energize the Latino LGBT community. This year’s Picnic and Health Fair will be held on
Sunday, July 27th, 2008, from 12-7pm in its usual scenic and beautiful location under the George Washington Bridge in upper Manhattan.

In addition to fun and food, music and cultural entertainment the Picnic and Health Fair has a serious function. Picnic attendees will get crucial information about HIV and STD prevention and testing, mental health services, smoking cessation programs, and other critical health related topics. It is also a way for us to show our strength, diversity and pride as members of the LGBT community.

We hope that your organization can help us in this important endeavor.

The Dominican/Latino LGBT Picnic and Health Fair is the result of the many hours of effort by people who volunteer their time to make it a successful, inspiring event. Of course, it also takes a lot of money from concerned people and organizations.

We rely on the generous support of many people and we hope that we can count on you to support us this year. We welcome all assistance - financial, merchandise, advertising in our journal, refreshments, etc. Please refer to the attached sponsorship form for the various ways you can help!

Thank you for your continuing support of the Dominican/Latino Picnic and Health Fair. If you desire additional information, feel free to contact Yoseli Castillo-Fuertes at 917 494-1941 or Cyoseli@yahoo.com or Francisco J. Lazala at (212) 584-9311 or Flazala@galde.org.
