Monday, Monday

What a great weekend. The sun FINALLY came out yesterday and it was wonderful. It had been cloudy/rainy/sunless practically all last week. It must be some global warming going on when it is hotter on the east coast of the U.S., compared to the Dominican Republic. Right? Well, I went to a friends house yesterday to get out of the city, and because it is mango season and he has a few mango trees. Didn't much care for mangoes when I lived in the States, but I absolutely love them now. Especially in a blender with some ice and Absolut. You should try it. Yum!

Had a run-in with Alejandro Friday night in front of Eukliptus. Trying to intimidate me. He tried to throw a drink on me, but missed. It then took a group to hold me back from not stomping his ass into the ground. He is hungry and because of me he can't fuck over the gay tourists. Oh, well. I guess I will have to keep a low-profile. NOT!

One of my favorite blogs is the Santo Domingo Boys Club. It is written by Antonello, a proud, out gay Dominican. The blog is in Spanish, but he has a link where you can translate it to English. Stop by and give it a look-see.

Is Hatian Tourism making a comeback? Interesting article explores the possibilities.

Here is a great article about a renowned Dominican guitarist.

As ever,

Anthony...from this point on you have to be extremely careful and watch your back. Alejandro could harm you..in fact, that seems to be his aim. Do not be a hero as other people suggests. Please stay clear away from that boy.I hope you also made a police report of the incident because he will try again. The next time could be serious.

Even before I ever read about Alejandro on your blog, he always gave me bad vibes whenever I saw him at the clubs. He seemed like a devious and sneaky person. Your info on him confirmed my initial feelings about him. And remember: Better safe than sorry!

By the way...did any body see Oprah's show last night? Your girl's guest has the best of both worlds. First she was a girl, then changed sex to become a man, and married to a "wife"...now he's with child as in "pregnant".Now why didn't I think of that? This is w-i-l-d !!!

Hey Anthony, I echo the last comment about Alejandro. He was provoking you to hit him so he could get you back into court, this time with the law probably on his side. What follows? Fine and/or jail and probable deportation.

Please don't be tempted! You're much to good for us all exactly where you are!

Agreed! Anthony, be careful. I know you've thought the situation with this creep out thoroughly, but remember, out at the club with a drink or two, emotions can run against your better instincts.

PLEASE keep in mind, he has absolutely nothing, repeat, nothing to lose at this point. banned from clubs, shunned by tourists, reduced to eating god knows what- mud cookies- backed into a corner like a rat. Please be careful!

Don't they have "garbage collectors" down there who can handle the problem?

Amazingly enough there are enough people who are concerned and agree to stay clear as much as possible of Alejandro. He is naturally bothered by the lack of work and his notorious reputation. Both equal up to being desperate and dangerous.

Thanks to everyone for their concern. Believe me, I am very careful, but I'm not going to let Alejandro, or any other thug intimidate me.

If I should suddenly disappear, you know who to look for.

What really pisses me off is some of clubs that still permit him to enter and bother tourists. Twice I have left clubs and let the manager know that if they were permitting Alejandro in the club then I would go elsewhere. I will continue to do that and if enough people would, it would send a message to Bar Friends and Eukliptus.......
