Summer in the City

A good friend is visiting, and because I am not too busy right now I decided to hang out with him. We went to Barahona on Friday, the beach on Saturday and Sunday, and just drove everywhere. Here is my weekend in photos:
Heading to Barahona, and passing through Bani & Azua. Finishing up at Playa San Rafael near Barahona.
When you make the turn off the highway to the airport, there is a little secluded beach that was fixed up for the neighborhood.
Sunday in Guayacanes
Mobil 1 racing at the track on Las Americas, near the airport. Coming back from the beach.
A car accident on the highway Sunday, which backed traffic up for miles.
This photo has nothing to do with my weekend. He is just beautiful and should be a part of anyone's weekend. Don't 'ya think?

My dear Mr montgomery, I would like for you to give me the REAL low down on Barahona. Well word has it that it the S__T!! I have been told that the boys are plentiful and eager to please for a fraction of the peso compared to the buggies in Santo Domingo..... and they are also clean and honest and on and such. So what is the REAL T?? If anyone would know, it would be you my dear...Please inform the rest of us that ARE NOT in the know...

Anthony, You have just piqued my heart and soul. How I remember that drive to Barahona along the southern coastline a few years ago. The scenery (of all sorts) was absolutely gorgeous. We also stopped by the side of the road for pescado frito y yuca. While trying to enjoy my feast, I was distracted by a specimen in white shorts and bare feet sitting about 20 feet from me and staring (Whew - heart palpitations!). We also stopped at a farm being worked by some beautiful and helpful Haitians. After visiting about 3 hours they were instructed by the owner to load up the trunk of our car with pumpkins, yuka, mangoes, plantains, etc. etc. etc. I could go on and on and on, but I'll leave it for another time. Thanks for sharing your photos, and thanks for your blog. I live in the Virgin Islands, but my heart is always in the DR. God Bless You. BJ

Anthony I loved the pictures of your trip to Baharona. I went there a few years back and quite agree about the beauty of the area and the beauty of the men. It's also said that the men from Baharona have the biggest dick's! I have heard this from several Dominicans. I would like to take another trip to Baharona when I return to the DR in mid November. Maybe I can pursuade you to come with me. What say you? At any rate, the pictures made me pine to be there in the DR once again. Thanks.
