Is this location Gay friendly? Just in case I get drunk and hit on the guy next to me. The decor is very nice. In your opinion is the place upscale? I'd need to tell my Buggaron Boyfriend how to dress LOL.
Thanks for the kind words re: the Whiskey Lounge. I was thrilled to have another place to hang...and it is especially good if you have a date. It is clean, good music, good service and has no drama.....I cant wait to return on my next trip.
That looks like a nice bar. Can you explain the bed for us?
It is not only gay friendly, it is now a gay bar....I, too, would like an explanation of the bed. I didn't see it there......it puts all kinds of images in my mind.
LOL . The bed is in the back section of the club. It not only has a bed but also couches to chill on. People need to go now and support this place before it goes the way of so many other legendary nightspots in SD. RIP Sports Bar, Parios, Arena, Ocho Portes etc. Drinks are great and well priced. Staff is friendly and respectful and beggers are few.
The bed is a place to lounge, have a drink, and relax. Preferably with a date. Anyway, stop by and have a look-see.

I hope that last comment was meant in jest. There is so much more to DR than just pay boys. Some people really need to get over themselves, the pay boys tend to be better groomed and more hospitible than a lot of the so called "gotta it like that gurls". They are a lot smarter than peeps give them credit after all they have you paying hundreds to get there and a few more hundred to parade them around and feed and cloth them. As they will let you know they are not doing it for love just the dollars, sneakers, credit cards and anything else peeps are stupid enough to give up in the deal. Most of them have better table manners and social skills than many of the peeps that speak so ill of them. Who is really in control of the deal? Just food for thought!

Thanks for making this point again, Ty. It really should be repeated. I got well and truly flamed by a couple of readers when I tried to say the same thing in Anthony's "Cautionary Tale" post below. As I said then, it depends on what you're looking for, and there is sooooooo much more than pay boys. But don't let me get started again! (LOL)

FYI it is a buggaron spot..Ms. Honey in the photos is a Buggaron, HELLO! You will have to refer to him going forward as Boogie the Bartender or Bartender Boogie.
I was there and had a nice conversation with the owner who is a Dominican woman. She says everyone is welcome as long as they don't disturb her clients. You can bring as many buggies as you like as long as they ain't acting like knuckleheads.

At this rate they will be closed in no time, THIS IS NOT A BOOGARON JOINT and not every business in DR is. So many low life's ruin everything for everyone else. It is a nice spot to sit chill and enjoy some down time without being hassled for a date, money and food.NO CARD PLAYING & YES you must buy drinksssss not just one beer and sip on it for the next 8 hours. Opps I forgot not many sex deprived, no class having penny pinching pretenders care about ruining a persons legitimate business. Which explains why Americans are increasingly unwanted in DR. With all the running out on rent, living in tents, molesting underage children and pulling dates trade out on the front steps of business its no wonder businesses are enforcing fees for visitors, raising room rates when they hear American and or refuse to do business with Americans at all. Maybe they should toss a few more of them in jail. Anthony imagine how it would be if you stop running to bail the gurls out. I bet a few of them would be able to hold on to their lap tops, credit cards and CASH.

She is a very nice lady and deserves to have her business!
She has returned to Las Vegas and agreed to let the manager promote the bar to the gay crowd. Buggarones are permitted but not sitting around begging and not buying a drink. That does not sound like a negative to me. If you want to bring 8 buggarones and buy them all a drink that would be fine but they should not be begging bus fare or chicken money from the other customers. As to the card playing at Pacos, is that sleazy activity still going on???

While I agree a lot of behaviour exhibited by some queens from the US is shameful, the actions of a few do not ruin it for the majority of travelers there for a good time.
Also, I can tell you exploits of European tourists and expats that put these silly-queen dramas on the disney channel. Have you heard the one about the Belgian?

beware of bed bugs, i'm sure some lowlife will bring bedbugs,crabs and spread it on the bed. so true the bartender is a big boogarone. while I hear complaints about how the americans go and act out but no comments how the dominicans steal, rob, bring the police to get money, cheat, lie and all the lowlife bullshit.
