American Airlines

Starting on March 1, 2009, American Airlines will charge for all for meals on flights coming to the Dominican Republic. You can now purchase meals/snacks for $3 -10. I am sure they will be lowering the prices on the tickets shortly.

LOL!

Reason # 37 we stopped flying AA years ago.

Looks like they dug through the trash bins at the President's Club and slapped a sandwich wrapper on what they found.

AA *will* be the first airline to charge to use the bathrooms... watch.

I think DR was the last place in the Caribbean with free meals in flight. Flight Attendants do welcome this as they can now be even more shady on their routes. no need to talk to the passengers!

despite the introduction of discount players to the DR (spirit and jet blue) good ole AA continues to offer the cheapest fares and most flights from the east coast. and no baggage fees.

A friend told me last week that AA-lines had already dropped there prices from Houston to SDQ..do not know if that price is still available but sure hope so by May....JIM From Houston,Tx...

Remember the good old days when we had a choice?.."chicken or beef" "whole wheat or sour dough"..whats going to be next? Realistically, with the rising cost of fuel, they have to do this to break even.

Good to see they stopped repackaging dropped peanuts from underneath seats.

The only airline where the stewardesses are scarier than escaped convicts from Locked Up- Raw.

Uniforms so soiled they march the aisles themselves.

"Shoulders, feet!", Shoulders, feet!". Like herds of Buffalo on roller skates pushing serving carts down the aisle. Ouch!

"But miss, the seat is wet." "Well, *I* don't have to sit there!" (Almost true incident)

"We're American Airlines, doing what we do worst."

OMG, some nasty commets here, some really hate A/Airlines for some reason.I feel from Houston they provide us with the best and cheepest service , that is to SDQ..but again I never tried US Air to SDQ, maybe they would cost less from here has well.I must check into that before my next flight to SDQ.The peanut commets sounds way to grose and out of line for me.Thanks for sharing. Coming from a flight attendant on a different major carrier...eat before you get on the plane or purchase something in the airport for the flight, you will find better value if you do that rather than purchase the snacks onboard....and to the passenger with the "FA's can be shady" outlook on life, your best option is to charter a private jet and choose your crew. You will pay more but you will not have to worry about using public transportation or recieving the same treatment that I am sure from your comment that you give. Keep in mind FA's are there primarily for safety, and amenities like complimentary meals are secondary though it is nice to have one. Also many FA's enjoy doing the hot meal service, most people like to have something constructive to do while at work to help their work day go by a little quicker. As far as FA's not talking to passengers goes, some do and some don't. You'e real gripe is with airline management who has consistently taken the tools needed by FA's to properly do their jobs, drastically slashed their pay and retirement benefits, post 911, all in the name of staying profitable while management continues to recieve multi million dollar bonuses. Unfortuantely many of these FA's are career FA's who have flown for years. It is not advantageous for them to quit a job that they have been at for 25 years to start over, so they attempt to put their frustrations aside, hold on and try to make the best of it. The trickle down theory is true and tested, this is a good example of that. With that being said there are many FA's who are consistently cheery and go out of their way to ensure every passengers comfort. Please keep in mind that you are not contracting for a personal butler service when you pay for your reduced fare economy ticket, you are paying for safe transportation from point A to point B and to be treated with the same respect you give. I don't know who you are but I will keep my eye out. If you are ever on my flight I wll go out of my way to make you comfortable, will you treat me with respect?

To Feb.12 @12:14..I fully agree with much of what you said, however I am always nice and treat people has I want to be treated but I must admit for some reason the past couple years I have noticed a change of attitude with many FA'S.I do not know if they are sick of there jobs or just fed up with public service, however after saying that, I feel if your over you job then get out because there are many people looking for a good job. It's takes less muscles to smile than frown.I am greatful for the the air service I have received the past few years because I arrived where I was headed in one piece however, it makes for a much more pleasant trip if everyone is nice, polite and happy with what there doing, thats all I am saying. When I see what happen last evening outside Buffalo,N.Y. and the plane going down killing all passangers and crew(48) I was indeed very sad and upset for most of the night, what a terriable accident to have happen and they were so close to there destination.I hope and pray they were all in good graces with there peace maker.God Rest there souls.Makes one think and appreciate life and Thank the good Lord for another day.JIM from Houston, Tx.

There's a very simple solution to hunger on the flight. From my kitchen: bread, mayonnaise (or mustard) and meat. Wrap it up and drop it in your carry-on. Works for me every time. I'm also the one who says "Anything I can't fit in my carry-on gets left behind."
