Latino Fan Club does not float my boat and never has. Most of their men look like druggies that they picked up outside the Port Authority Bus Terminal in NYC. It's too bad that most Latin sites think that drugged-out, thug types are what we Latin-lovers want to see! From Puerto Rico, Rafael
Interesing comments from Rafeael from Puerto Rico. I have made the switch so many times that I just can't keep track of it. When I first decided that I was into Latin Men, I went for the pretty types... you know, the ones that look like just amazing beauty, with soft skin and tiny bodies. But then I moved to an area where the latin guys where Rough and Tough and I soon fell for that. I just love that Machismo and toughness.. Then, I discovered the caribbean and went to the Dominican Republic. I fell in LOVE!!!! - - - Now, my type is only the strong ethnic look with a killer body. But there is nothing quite like getting a NYC Latino Thug! - - - I respect your comments, but live a little and try a the same flavor, but just in a different looking package. It's all good and you just may find something you love.
Believe me, Mr. Big D, when I say that (at my age) I've tried all the flavors and all the packagings. It's too bad that some Latino sites get into the stereotype thing. I was a member of a well-known Latino pay site for a few months and then I cancelled my membership. They wrote me asking why I had cancelled and I told them that their "models" looked like drug addicted lowlife that would do anything for a few dollars. Never mind the jock itch they showed when they spread their legs. Aaaargh! Just not my cup of tea. Thanks for your comment. From Puerto Rico, Rafael
I know that this story has nothing to do with the topic at hand but I thought some of your readers might find this story helpful. I got it from Dr1.Child abuser deported The Department of Migration has deported Joseph Christian Fontana, who was living in Cabrera, Maria Trinidad Sanchez province, at the request of the US judiciary. He was sought to stand trial for charges of rape of at least 50 minors in the US. The president of the National Drug Control Department Major General Gilberto Delgado Valdez said that Fontana, who was arrested on 5 June, moved to the DR to avoid standing trial in the US. Reportedly, he had been living in the country since 2001.
Regarding the Latino Fan Club. I used to be a big fan, but their models have gotten too young. However, a studio that has given us Papi Songo will always have a special place in my heart. Ramon Figueroa
"papi songo" - term used to describe a super hot guy like in: A: Did you see Irvin with that papi songo last night at JDs? B: Yes, I did. That bitch could not get the flu in the middle of Mexico City, so how'd she get such a fine papi songo? A: I don't know, but I want one of those, too!
Has anybody stayed at the Hotel Discovery? From the photos it looks like quite a descent place. And can anyone tell me about their taking guests to the room policy? I'm planning a trip next month. Thanks
Hi Anthony or any travelers that has been down to SDQ recently Hope your well, with the economic as it is and not any better in SDQ, What is the going price for a gentleman calling? Better yet what will not offend them? I do understand that a $100.00 will not offend any one for 15-20 min! But I mean realistic talking. Thanks
Of course $100 will not offend anyone especially when the going rate is about $30 in USA money or the equivalent in pesos. Sure, they may ask you for more and if you pay them $100 a pop, I assure you that you will be the most popular tourist in the city!
Curious at best when our critic from P.R. refers to the Port Authority, when much closer are the streets of Old San Juan. Filled with druggies all available for a few $$$$. The tragedy is that self esteem frequently dictates what one is willing to settle for. Most of the prostitutes in NYC are druggies, likewise in P.R. The tragedy is that there are so many addicts and not enough being done to treat the problem. The need to medicate psychic pain seems to be growing. The amount of violence in P.R. directly related to drugs is EXTREME and very telling. Gay men like what appears to be macho when in reality it is pathetic. Pathetic that the whole world not just Port Authority is in trouble. The majority of the prostitutes along the Conde in D.R. are also druggies. It is all over. Yet, nothing in the western hemisphere can compare with the tragedy of what is the reality of P.R. What is the solution???????? David from N.Y.
The Discovery Hotel charges $10 per visitor.......$20 to $30 dollars will make most gentlemen happy and they will make you very happy....as stated above many will start asking for $75 to $100 dollars and there may be those who tip at that rate .......but it is not necessary!
Sorry if I ruffled your feathers when I mentioned the Port Authority Terminal in NYC, David, dear. Concerning PR, I agree it ain't what it used to be also because of drug use in young men. That's why I visit SD. When SD gets too bad and if I still have the energy, I will travel to somewhere else to get my kicks. And so it goes.... From Puerto Rico, Rafael
Perhaps because I just returned from PR. I went to support my sister. Her father died. I drove from Ponce to San Juan to visit a friend. I was shocked!! I went to Palmer, just outside El Yunque. My mother was born and raised there. The whole Island is infested. 2 O'clock in the afternoon, young people shooting drugs in the Plaza. I visited a family member in San Francisco de Rio Piedras. They live in terror, with gates inside the house.
I think it is important to shed light on these issues. It is equally important to recognize the connection between prostitution, drugs, sex, gay sub-culture etc.
The tragedy in PR, in my opinion, is just a preview of what is to come in DR. DR is not far behind PR.
I too, prefer DR. Yet, DR is not what it used to be. I spend little time in SD. I prefer the North. Yet, the problem is everywhere.
Years ago most of the Hustlers were just that. It is clear that now, many are addicts. That is a problem. The days of the Penthouse will never be again. I am glad to have those memories. I am also glad to have the level of awareness I have. We are not safe in SD. We can take precautions but the randomness and uncertainty of life are more demanding than before.
This is a great blog. I am happy that Anthony permits dialogue outside the usual.
You did not ruffle my feathers and I always enjoy reading your entries.
Very ominous, and sobering thoughts of what is now happening in the islands..maybe we should enjoy it while the good times last...I remember when it used to be such a pleasure to visit these places. Maybe its time to move on to new patures
Former New Yorker (Harlem!) living in Santo Domingo. I moved here in January 2004. I'm just following my dream of being my own boss and looking forward to the journey of where life takes me next.
