For months now all you heard in passing cars and on the radio is, Pepe, Pepe, Pepe. I really didn't pay it much attention. I just assumed everyone was listening to the same thing. It is not until a foreigner asks me who is Pepe? When I first got asked this question I didn't know what they were talking about. Over the past couple of months it has emerged as the spring/summer anthem. There are Pepe dances, contests and it is loved by the Dominican community (not by all) here and abroad. I found some really interesting videos on YouTube:
This one has nothing to do with Pepe. Just men having a dance battle:

Baile, Papi, baile!!!
How ironic you should write this. Last night I was woke up at 3am with Pepe Pepe Pepe blasting outside my bedroom window! No, not Santo Domingo, but 108th & Manhattan Ave in NYC.
Never heard of it and I just got back yesterday from SD. One day it was as hot as hell and the next day it rained in biblical proportions and so it went. We did not go out much, but were at Eukliptus one night and our last night in SD, we went to CLICK which in now a lesbian hangout. Ouch! They just kept coming through the door like there was no
tomorrow. Not a man in sight. Well, you know what I mean... Nice to have met George from San Francisco and Shaun from NYC while at Camilo House. Take care!
From Puerto Rico,

This dance has a similarity with the Brazilian CREU dance. Check it out on YouTube, the boys are HOT.
