Buen Dia

The Lee Studios parties were a nice start to the weekend. There was a make-shift shower for the strippers. Even one of the patrons got in the swing of things and stripped down to his underwear. Not to worry, he is obviously a regular member at his local gym. Unfortunately, I didn't take any photos. I was helping out and just didn't have the time. Also, the dancers said they would be more "daring" if no photos were taken. And they were. There was a nice crowd visiting this past weekend, et not as big as in years past. To make up for the lack of party photos, here are some photos of a little excursion taken yesterday in Bonao with Ernest. Heading back to Barahona today. But can only stay one night. It is really sad how real life and the pursuit of the dollar/euro/peso constantly intrudes on fun.

Let's give a more positive slant to your closing statement and say that fun many times comes your way
in pursuit of the dollar/euro/peso
especially in the DR. You know
what I mean.....

could anyone give some insight into why guys in Latin countries wear multiple sets of clothes beneath their jeans? Just curious.

Oh my. The man with the braids. Don't even know what to say!

And Anthony, at least in your pursuit of the dollars and the pesos, you aren't riding the number 1 train no more!

And for the anonymous poster above who wants to know why guys in Latin countries wear multiple set of clothes beneath their jeans...well, guys in NYC do the same. Don't think this is necessarily a Latino country thing. The greatest influence on this I think, is like most things, Rap Videos.

The reason for the layers is that it absorbs the sweat, and if you wear light breathable fabrics it also keeps you cool in an humid environment. They also do this in the middle east and Africa... this is where I learned this info. I was puzzled by this for years myself.

I agree that it is done in the states also....I think it may be a fashion statement.
