Curfew Cancelled!!!!!

Okay, it is only cancelled for tonight. At least that is what the media is reporting. It will be nice to see if the police got the same memo. Tomorrow is a Dominican holiday and tonight the curfew is cancelled.

We shall see.

I spoke with someone who works closely with the Hotel Association here and he told me that the curfew will be gone by its 3-month anniversary. We even have a bet on it, ´cause you know I don´t believe it. This is a rumor, so PLEASE don´t change your vacation plans because of it. LOL!

I have exchanged my ticket for the holidays and cancelled my hotel reservation. I am not paying that kind of money to be treated like a child and have to be in by midnight. I think Costa Rica is my new destination.

Lets see if you exchanged your ticket that means you paid 100.00 or 150.00 exchange fee; and you talking about not spending that kind of money... seem suspect to me...I tell you these Old Grand Queens kills me... Anthony I will see you for Labor day

Grand Queens is right....So they treat you like a child in the US with their early closing hours, and now your playground of the last 50 years is finally caught up with home. So sad. Get over it girl. Go to Costa Rica, I'm sure you will find fault there also. I'm with the 3rd commentor, I'll see you on Labor Day.

Costa Rica????? Are you kidding? Costa Rica and the DR are as different as Florida and Alaska! How/why on earth did you decide to so-call use that as a "substitute?" Anyway, thanks for the tireless work, Anthony. And feel free to ignore (as in not post) the troublemakers' babble!

This is true. dr1.com reports that the restriction is lifted due to the holiday. Christmas and New Years are also on the list of holidays when the restriction will be lifted.

The restriction doesn't apply at private resorts. So, staying at an all-inclusive in Boca Chica is an option for those die-hard lushes! You can still come into the city to shop, etc. LOL

Hi All,

The Dominican Republic is GREAT! But Costa Rica is a very cool vacation destination also. The MEN ARE HOT! The cost of living is really cheap too. Like DR Costa Rica has beautiful beaches, great terrain, food, music, and culture. Its close also (4 hour flight from NYC). Do your research, you'll see its worth the trip! Did I say the guys were HOT??

BTW I love this blog....

Oh, come on! Has this blog become a venue for Eric Estrada-type of land advertisement? Does the above poster think we are dumb and dumber. Anyone can do a google search of Paragon properties and find out it is all hype.

These old Queens are a mess! As far as that queen that said he exchanged his ticket should stay home anyway all he does is sit at Paco's for hours and talk shit to the boys and fall asleep, while taking the good seats... nobody wants to see that old ass wrinkle ass cheap queen with one beer asking for ice to keep it cold sitting in front of pacos. I'm for the Marshall law in the D.R. if it can keep that queen out of the D.R.

Just be mindful that it is a blessing to be called "old", and have the means to be able to travel at will and if need be change travel arrangements without stress. This life style does not value our older brothers and sisters, even though we should. I honor you. Many will not be blessed to reach 35, and many young people are looking older than they are. Anyway, I guess this is a topic for another blogg entry.

The last post is so right. Hating and name calling has no place on this blog or in our community. We are better than that.

Hey Anthony, how is Jay Dee's doing with their new hours and now that they are the only gay game south of El Conde? Why not give us one of your insightful reviews of the current bar scene, updated for any new curfew news. Let's hope the suspension of the curfew lasts beyond the National Holiday.

David Lee has a review of Jay Dee's VIP Lounge and The Sports Bar Family Reunion on his blog:

Everyone is pretty much adjusting to the curfew. I have heard from several people with connections that the curfew will be dropped by the time the winter season gets going. Again, these are the rumors.

As for the bars. Right now, Rouge has been very popular. I have not been to Jay-Dee´s yet, so I am not sure. I will be going by this weekend. I went to Arena last Sunday night and it was dead. Went to Rouge and it was a large crowd there and a great and funny show. For the most part, people are adjusting. Rouge is busy now because it is new. We´ll see what happens in the next couple of weeks.

As for the comments about not coming here and going to Costa Rica, Brazil and the like. Thank God for living in a democracy. You can travel wherever you see fit.

As for Fantasy Stars. Know one I talk to knows anything about it. I would be very surprised if it opens back up for any length of time.

As to Rouge, my friends and I were there at 11:00 pm last night (Fiday). Paid 200.00 pesos each to get in (about $6.00). Bought some drinks, sat down to chill, after about 30 minutes the electricity went out and so did the air conditioning system. They opened all the windows but that did not help much. The lights and music came back on, but not the air conditioning. So, after 30 more minutes of sweating it out, we got up and left. It was 12:00 am and the place was almost empty. We went to Jay Dee´s and the place was jumping! Saw the show, danced, drank, and a great time was had by all. Don´t think Rouge will last too much longer. At 2:00 am they closed and everybody went home happy!

As to my previous post, I meant that Jay Dee´s closed promptly at 2:00 am and everybody went home. People were leaving from Arena too and other bars/discos at that hour. As Anthony said, people seem to be adjusting. You have to get out a bit earlier though and there is talk about extending the hours to 2:00am on weekdays and 4:00 am on Fridays and Saturdays. Four of us are staying at Casa New Yorker and having a great time.

Psssss.... that was Jerry (from JD's) paying the EDEESTE (electrical company) technicians for cuting up electrical service to Chachita...hehehe... Al Capone won't allow competitors on town.

Next step is to throw a molotov to Rouge, or burn up pictures of Chachita in Ave. Bolivar.

Guys, just kidding.

Anonymous said...

NOT FUNNY. Anyone who knows Jerry knows he minds HIS business and runs HIS business. Everyone knows the lights go out on a regular basis in Santo Domingo and many places have power generators to run the lights. Obviously, Rouge has a generator, but it does not run the a/c. Chachita should invest in a larger generator, one that will run her a/c as well as lights and music.

You hateful bitches always are looking for ways to knock someone down, even when you use it as a joke. hehehe, my ass. Worry about getting your faggot ass to Santo Domingo and paying for your prostitutes and hotel room and you won't have enough time to come up with stories that you are just kidding about.

Does any one know if ther are any gay bars or clubs in Santiago.

Thanks

Dan
