Watching the news from the U.S., all you hear about is how the economic situation is not good. With oil prices increasing daily, the airlines are all screaming for more money. Airfares are at an all-time high. Fees are being added for everything from choosing your own seats, luggage, and now even to peanuts. It got me to thinking if the really die-hard visitor was thinking (or being forced) about cutting back on their travel here?
I haven't noticed a decrease in people visiting the island, at least from my standpoint. What I have noticed is the increase of European visitors. I have visitors from Russia and Denmark staying with me now. The currency situation makes the Domincan Republic a bargain for Europeans.

A Dominican fighter (photo above), Giovanni Lorenzo, will be fighting on Saturday (on Showtime). I would check him out if I were you.

Plane tickets for a roundtrip, 40 minute flight from Puerto Rico are $502.00 in December. You better believe I'm cutting back on my traveling to the DR!
I tried to cancel my trip to the DR and change the ticket for a local trip but AA wouldn't let it happen...AA is getting outragious and that will definitely stop my travels to the DR---like anyone cares, LOL!
Huh?
Yeah..I'm Laughing Out Loud myself. What was all that about? Somebody please explain...
Maybe about the musical, In the Heights, which is now playing in NYC? She must be a character?
