This started off really simply. Find a place. Get some alcohol and strippers and have a party. I thought Bar Friends would fit the bill, unfortunately they still have an electricity issue that I was assured had been solved. Lights went out and it got extremely hot. Lights came back and strippers came out. Unfortunately, I just can't trust the Bar Friends people to fix all that needs to be done. So NO party tonight. At least none that I am involved with. To add an extra element of drama. It has been raining here everyday. Yesterday it didn't start to rain until about 7pm and continued for most of the night. It hasn't rained yet today, but it looks like it will soon. More photos to come.

My guess is that the woman is the wife/girlfriend of the stripper. It is a real turnoff to me when a stipper has his wife/girlfriend with him. Anthony, was the lack of electricity due to neglience on the part of Bar Friends or was it a neighborhood blackout????
The very nice woman came with some gay friends, and the strippers didn't pay any special attention to her.
And the electricity problem was due to negligence of Bar Friends.
Bar Friends crashed and burned a long time ago, but somehow manages to stay open. My friends and I do not bother to go there anymore and we probably never will unless the place changes for the better!

It's not about "competition." Some strippers will feel uncomfortable if there are women present when they are working a gay audience. They will tone down their act all together or give the women most of their attention. And by the way, if I'm looking for a man, the last place I would go would be to a GAY bar! I go to gay bars to dance and joke around with friends, but to find a MAN..??? Puleeeze!!!

What excellent advice! The only long-term relationships that I have had were with men that I did NOT meet in a gay club. Either I met them at some activity or we were introduced by a mutual friend. My present relationship is going on 10 years and is still smoking hot!

Hello,Athony. I just got back to DC from the DR. I caught the best weather and had a good time. Getting out of the country is always a nightmare though. I was stopped along with another black and latino man at customs. We had to follow this guide who made us have chest x-rays. I was FURIOUS. These guys did not look like they knew what the Hell they were doing. When I asked why, for possible ingestion of drugs. Let your readers know, they can be stopped, Black and Latino men and take a medical grade chest x-rays with no medical history taken.I think someone is making money on the side for the x-rays. When I asked why only Blacks and Latinos, they claimed ignorance. No white people were x-rayed. WTF, and I'm a U.S, Doctor!!!!!!!

Please do not even start to get me roiled up re: treatment of folks of color by these 'guards' in customs/security. I can never understand why we (folks of color) resent other folks of color, especially when they seem to be more successful than we are. It's as if the place of high regard is only reserved for white folks. But, since you see the behavior, and recognize it for what it is (colonial past), look past this, and continue on your way to enjoying your vacay. They didn't create the sun, sea, and sand - so go-on and enjoy!!!
Can customs in another country force someone to take a chest x-ray?
I would like to know the legality to that!
I for one know that in the USA, I don't take unnecessary X rays just because a doctor's requests it.
Anon,8:38, how true the "chief-customs" officer was man, the person who did the xrays were black. Hell everyone was in on it was black. The chest x-rays were an insult, this is the 1st time. But I think it's dangerous, everyone should not be exposed. I'm sure there is a kickback somewhere, they were to jovial about the whole thin, wierd. Otherwise, I had a good time.............?

Also, most of the drug busts at least the most recent ones have all been with Europeans.
This sounds like a very strange weekend to have been down there. fun, but strange.
I do believe that you do not have a choice when it comes to x-rays at any customs, they have the power along with the authority to do what ever they feel is needed if they suspect someone..sorry thats the bottom and top of it...You best do what your asked or be placed in a holding tank and strip searched, or could be a hold worse than just an x-ray.(think about that for a few??)DO NOT MESS WITH CUSTOMS.. So just look like a good clean UN-suspected person, like me..hee hee hee.. smile
I wrote a letter to customs about chest x rays, let's see if they do get back. I know recently a coworker whos's husband was deported back to the DR....is always questioned by US customs as to why she goes so much to the DR and how can she afford to go...we recently were discussing this and she informed me that she won't be going back due to the harassment and intimidation by the US customs,
