Disaster in Haiti

Save lives in Haiti
A country in Peril...

NEW YORK, September 15, 2008. – New York-based aid organization, Batey Relief Alliance, is preparing a post disaster relief operation to address the basic needs of children and their families severely affected by back-to-back hurricanes Gustav, Hannah and Ike in the impoverished nation of Haïti.

According to local authority reports, the storms have already claimed hundreds of lives, and left 800,000+ homeless, hungry and exposed to diseases in the provinces of Gonaives and Les Cayes. Haiti’s President, Rene Preval, warned that this year’s storms could be worst than 2004’s that killed more than 4,000.

Batey Relief Alliance is collaborating with various local grassroots and faith-based groups to deliver emergency medical assistance, medicines, vitamins, food, clean water, and clothes to the victims.

The Batey Relief Alliance works closely with various strategic partners/donors, including USAID, Clinton HIV/AIDS Initiatives, Presbyterian Church USA, Lions Clubs International Foundation and international aid organizations to carry out programs in HIV/AIDS, nutrition, water/sanitation, blindness prevention and disaster relief.
